Professional Experience
La Salle Academy August 2007-Present
- Social Studies teacher at La Salle Academy, a highly competitive, Catholic, coeducational college preparatory, high school located in Providence, RI.
- Educated high school students in advanced placement, honors and traditional United States history. Formerly taught grade ten honors and traditional World History, as well as grade nine honors Civics.
- Creatively design and implement differentiated lesson plans that benefit 21st century learners.
- Developed a new United States history curriculum with other department members
- Represent the faculty as an elected member of the La Salle Academy Academic Council, a body charged with discussing, debating, and voting academic issues.
- Counsel new teachers through the La Salle Academy Teacher Induction Program. Coach new teachers as a mentor and successfully guide them through the program.
- Assistant coach for men’s soccer from 1996-2010. Coordinated with fellow coaches and assessed team needs During that time period, the program was consistently ranked in the top 25 teams according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, ranking as high as #4 nationally. The program also won six consecutive state championships from 2000-2005, and again in 2010.
- Instructed students at The Tides School in Providence, RI, an alternative high school for young men and women adjudicated by the Rhode Island Family Court.
